TheSub-Terrestrial Research Association befriended me last night on Foursquare. Following various updates I discovered that it's part of a marketing campaign for Monsters a film coming out at the beginning of December. The Campaign uses Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, but I am hoping for a little more narrative and play than appears to be going on here. It would be an opportunity missed if they don't create other media and narrative to go with it.
In my other life blogging about play and theology/spirituality I like to read this guy, Jesper Juul. He studies play, pretty specifically digital gaming (video games, casual gamingetc etc). This post links to a report by the Social Game Studies group – if you are into that kind of thing…
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair" - Charles Dickens
