Non-planning books for planners 3 – The Storytelling Animal

This is a fascinating book for anyone who needs to catch the attention of consumers, anyone who needs to engage people on a journey of discovery, anyone who likes watching or reading stories, anyone who dreams…pretty much anyone.

It looks at why it is that humans tell stories. We tell stories about ourselves to ourselves. We tell stories in our sleep. What are we doing?

Understanding this helps us understand what story frameworks, rising and falling actions and methods of delivery resonate with us and why. And understanding why we can write that killer novel, or enjoy the well-crafted advert or create a new experience or social media journey that people will actually enjoy and engage with deeply.

This is an absolutely fascinating book with a lot of great food for thought – without being didactic. User your brain.
